Hertfordshire Birth & Postnatal Doula Services
Steady, personal support so you’ll feel held and at ease through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.
Personalised support for families in and around Baldock, North Herts & Central Bedfordshire
You already have the strength and inner knowing to birth and nurture your baby.
Sometimes you just need a bit of reassurance, practical support, or space to build confidence. It’s normal to feel uncertainty along the way, whether you’re thinking about birth, preparing for the first days with your baby, or both.
As a birth and postnatal doula, I’m here to walk alongside you wherever you are on your journey. From sharing evidence-based information to help you make decisions that are right for you, to bringing you traditional postpartum practices such as belly massage, moxibustion, and herbal remedies.
Together, we’ll explore your options, make sure you feel informed, and create an environment where you can trust your body and approach motherhood with calm and confidence.
Supporting your birth in Hertfordshire
Every birth is unique, and your journey won’t be the same as mine… or anyone else’s. That’s exactly as it should be.
In the lead-up to your birth, I’ll support you to explore your options, build understanding, and tune in to what feels right for you. When the time comes, I’ll be there - offering steady presence and practical support as you listen to your body, trust your instincts, and move through labour in your own way.
I work with a small number of families each year, which gives us time to really get to know one another. Together, we’ll explore your hopes and fears, talk things through, and prepare so you feel grounded, cared for, and open to how your story unfolds.
For generations, many cultures have honoured the first 40 days after birth as a time to rest, restore, and be nurtured.
Traditional 40 days postpartum care
My postnatal support is rooted in traditional mother-warming practices and gentle care as you recover and find your rhythm with your little one. This may include soothing massage to calm your nervous system and settle your body, moxibustion, herbal baths or steams, nourishing foods, and warming teas. I can also offer gentle guidance around feeding your baby, babywearing, and sleep. Just as importantly, there is space for simply being listened to and held during this profound time of transition.
Where possible, I like us to meet before your baby arrives so we can get to know one another, explore your needs, and plan together. I usually work with families over a series of six visits, each lasting around 2 hours, allowing care to unfold at a pace that best supports you and your family.

Traditional Postnatal Doula in Hertfordshire
£650
The weeks after birth deserve as much care and attention as the birth itself. Yet in the West we've lost much of the tradition of tending to new mothers; of nourishing, warming, and protecting them during this sacred window so they can focus on recovering and bonding with their baby.
I want to help bring that back. Drawing on traditional postpartum practices, I offer warm, nurturing support during the fourth trimester.
We'll plan your postpartum together in advance, so that when your baby arrives everything is in place for you to truly rest.
Support might include nourishing meals and drinks, herbal baths, belly binding, massage, moxibustion, and help with babywearing. I’ll also offer you a ‘Closing of the Bones’ - a powerful ritual to mark this physical and emotional transition. But equally important is the space to talk, to process your birth, adjust to your growing family, and be held yourself.
I work with a small number of postnatal families each year. That's intentional. It means I can truly show up for you.
A little about me…
I came to doula work through my own experiences of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period - experiences that were unexpected, challenging, and transformative. I've birthed in hospital and at home. Followed recommendations, and also weighed up the evidence and chosen to birth outside guidelines.
I’ve experienced two very quite different postpartum recoveries - one rushed, one intentional, embracing rest, warmth, and traditional practices including wisdom from my husband’s native India.
It's this breadth of personal experience, alongside my yoga background and doula training, that I bring to the families I support.
